Random events is one of the oldest articles on the UnRuneScape Wiki and has been edited and improved by a whole load of editors. Random events are annoying and useless happenings in the world of Gielinor which stop you from doing something worthwhile (like levelling up a certain skill) for a measly 640 coins, or to get beaten up by a dopey troll with a club, or scare, rape and throw projectiles at you. Jagex says they implemented random events to prevent macroes, but kept them in even after they introduced the Unbalanced Trading system. All random events do is piss you off, and attempt to kill players with shitloads of cash, or slow down skilling. They are hated by all players, except when and if you actually get a good random event, such as a Genie. Some random events to watch out for include the Chuck Norris random, the she-male sexfest, the censor (the most common random event of all), the Drill Demon, whose names gives you a clear idea of what he does to the players he abducts, and the Tangle Vine, also known as the Extending or Pleasure Vine.
